Development of fungal cell factories for efficient green biomanufacturing: novel regulators and improving robustness

Prof. Xinqing Zhao received her Ph.D. Degree at Myongji University, South Korea, and worked at University of Tuebingen as a postdoc fellow supported by Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation from 2007 to 2009. She has worked in Dalian University of Technology (DUT) from 1998-2012, and was promoted to full professor in 2011 in DUT before she joined the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Metabolism, School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2014. Her research work mainly focuses on development of robust yeasts and filamentous fungi by metabolic engineering for efficient production of biofuels, biochemicals and bioactive agents. Prof. Zhao is currently the editorial board member of Biotechnology Advances, Biotechnology for Biofuels and Bioproducts, Frontiers in Microbiology, BioDesign Research, and Bioresources and Bioprocessing. She was awarded “Excellent Talents in the New Century” by Chinese Ministry of Education in 2012.
