Tracing and engineering cyanobacterial metabolism for solar-driven chemical production from CO2

Chen Yang, earned B.S. from Zhejiang University, China, in 1994, and Ph.D. in Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2001. From 2001 to 2008 she was a postdoctoral fellow in Keio University, Japan, and then in Burnham Institute for Medical Research, USA. She was selected into the One-hundred-Talented-People program of CAS in 2008 and the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2019. From 2008 to 2024 she is a professor in CAS-Key Laboratory of Synthetic Biology, CAS Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Sciences, Shanghai Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology, CAS. From February of 2024, she is a distinguished professor in School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU).
