Organic soil amendments for a sustainable agriculture: linking microbiome responses to soil biochemistry
Elena Biagi holds a PhD in Applied Biocatalysis and Industrial Biotechnology. Her current main research interests reside in environmental microbiology, in particular in terms of compositional and functional characterization of environmental microbial communities involved in processes of interest (i.e. bioremediation, soil restoration etc). She acted as Scientific Manager for a EU H2020 project (CIRCLES) and is now involved in other HORIZON EU projects focused on increasing soil fertility (TRIBIOME) and exploring new strategies for bioremediation of industrially polluted soils (NYMPHE). She published > 90 research articles in international scientific journals with >8000 citations (Scopus H-index 44).
